Injury Prevention News

The New Zealand Injury Prevention Strategy Secretariat, the Injury Prevention Network of Aotearoa New Zealand, the Safe Communities Foundation New Zealand and Sandra James are collaborating in the creation of a two monthly e-newsletter called IP News. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep those involved in the injury prevention sector informed about relevant events and issues that are happening in New Zealand and overseas, and to provide an opportunity for injury prevention practitioners to promote their activities and share their news.

Also sitting on the editorial panel of the IP News is the editor of the New Zealand Injury Control Bulletin. The NZICB will continue to be published three times a year, featuring more detailed articles. Publication dates for the two sources of news will dovetail to provide a more frequent flow of communication amongst organisations, groups and individuals in the sector.

It is important to acknowledge that there are numerous organisations and groups who provide and publish excellent information and resources. The IP News does not replicate or replace any of these publications, it supports and encourages readership of them by providing easy access to news, events, research, personnel changes, public consultations, and more.

In the interests of making a newsletter which is quick and easy to read each item will be outlined briefly and concisely, next to a link for more information. In this way the reader will be able to rapidly glance through the newsletter looking for items which are relevant or interesting to him or her.

We welcome contributions to the IP News. If you know of any injury prevention related conferences, open meetings, community events, fund-raising events, news, or injury incidents which highlight a specific issue, let us know so we can promote it in the newsletter. Also, we warmly encourage you to forward this email to any person or organisation who would like an event listed. Click here to register for the IP News. You may already be on our database, if so you will be informed when you try to submit your email address. If you are on the database but do not want to receive the IP News you can unsubscribe by contacting m.kuch@ipn.org.nz or unsubscribe when the first edition arrives in your in-box in early August
